AI Action Plan
Excerpts of Response by Safe AI Foundation
MARCH 2025:
Below are key points extracted from the Safe AI Foundation letter, in response to OSTP's request for comments.
NOTE: As a non-profit organization, the foundation have no obligation to influence legislation, and our prime focus is on "Safe AI for All".

1. Industry activities in AI should be allowed to continue, as derailing it would hinder progress, slow down the creation of new products, jobs, and have a negative impact on the economy.
2. The safety aspects of AI have to be addressed, in a way to contain the risks but concurrently allowing AI innovation and economic growth to continue.
3. The government’s leadership in this area of “Safety Aspects of AI” is very much needed. In particular, how proper “AI Governance in America” can help to roll out policies and guidelines to contain risks, dispel public fears, while allowing industrial AI advancement.
4. These policies should cover:
Misuse of AI for fraud, misrepresentation, copyright violations of arts, media and entertainment content, false allegations and impersonation, etc.
Hacking into AI systems to create chaos and havoc or financial theft, etc.
Misuse of Robots to cause harm to humans and disrupt law enforcement
Ethical and responsible AI software/system/product development
Prohibit creation of AI system that could result in unfair business practices, market advantage or violation of personal privacy
Misuse of consumer data for AI model training without consent
“Certification of Safety” in AI products, prior to being sold or release to the market.
5. The above are some critical issues that demand proper policies to be in place to safeguard industries and the public (consumers of AI).
6. Finally, the SAFE AI Foundation supports all efforts that make AI a priority for America and "Safe AI for All".
