Structure
The SAFE AI Foundation is led by a Board of Directors, supported by an AI Experts Board, AI Industry Board, and a team of staffs and volunteers.
Board of Directors are senior people from industries with background in EECS and have strong interests in AI and can devote time, money, and efforts in pursuing the missions of the Foundation for public good. The foundation will host an "AI Experts Board", "AI Industry Leaders Board", Academy Fellows, and a "Foundation Fellows" Program (to be announced).
Honorary Presidents: The foundation's highest honor is the Honorary President title, given to distinguished persons in the AI field. Currently, Nobel Prize and Turing Award winners are named Honorary Presidents.
Academy Fellows: are persons known for their work on AI and are recognized by UK or USA national academies. The Foundation's Academy Fellows are by-invitation only and they are automatically admitted to the AI Experts Board.
Foundation Fellows: are people working on AI and recognized by the foundation for their outstanding work related to AI and its safety. Foundation fellows are evaluated and elected on application.
AI Experts Board: are a group of Academy Fellows responsible for technical directions and issues on AI. Academy Fellows will evaluate candidates for election to Foundation Fellows.
AI Industry Board: are top AI Industry executives providing visions, directions, and feedback on industry's concerns on AI and its safety.
