What does it refer to and what does it actually mean?

The SAFE AI Foundation defines and interprets "SAFE AI" in the following way:

AI Ethics

AI Ethics refers to being able to tell the truth, honest, accurate, give morally right answers or actions, support humanity, does not cause harm or destruction, etc. See "Why AI Ethics Matters Today".

AI Governance

AI Governance refers to all the guidelines, frameworks, policies, laws, acts, standards, etc., to ensure that AI conforms to what is acceptable by society and the national governing bodies. See: "AI Governance: A Practical Approach".

Responsible AI

Responsible AI refers to accountability, transparency, fairness, inclusiveness, etc. Companies practicing Responsible AI means that they are fully and readily accountable for any hiccups by their AI products. They ensure transparency in the process and rectify faults for the better.

Secured AI

Secured AI refers to being able to be prevent intrusion, virus attacks, hacking, and protecting its own data and LLM/AI model integrity. There should no data leaks and robustness is built into the AI product/system to provide redundancies against failures.

Safe AI is Good AI - it has many useful applications and does no harm to humans. See also: Bad AI
